Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Overn McCarthy, of
Brantford, Ontario, Canada, have announced
the engagement of their second daughter,
Miss Mary Vourneen McCarthy, to Mr., William
Cecil Hogg, son of Mrs. Hogg and the
late Mr. George Alexander Hogg, of Shady
Avenue. The wedding is planned for the
early Autumn.

MISS EMILIE WRIGHT
Daughter of Mr. Arthur Wright, of Utica and New
York, has chosen May twenty-first for her marriage to
Mr. Graham Johnston, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norwood
Johnston, of Pittsburgh and Pinehurst.
The bridal party to be in attendance at the
wedding of Miss Martha Lewis MacCord,
daughter of Mrs. Thomas Charles MacCord,
of Cathedral Mansions, and Mr. Biddle Arthurs,
Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Biddle Arthurs,
of Center Avenue, will include Mr.
Arthurs' sister, Mrs. William Whigham, Jr.,
of Clairton, as matron of honor; Miss Marjorie
Easton, of New York, as maid of honor,
and Miss Kathryn Brenneman, as bridesmaid.
Mr. Whigham is to serve as best man and
the ushers will be Miss MacCord's cousin, Mr.
Clifford G. Dunnells, of Chicago; Dr. Theodore
Redman, Mr. Joseph F. Kuntz, Jr., Mr.
Frederick B. Westervelt, Mr. A. Lyle Linderman,
of Pittsburgh; Mr. B. W. Cummings,
III., of Pottsville, and Mr. James Verner, of
Springdale. The wedding will take place
Wednesday evening, May ninth, at seven
o'clock, in the First Baptist Church.
This afternoon Miss Brenneman gives a
bridge for Miss MacCord, another event in
her honor is Miss Easton's tea and Tuesday
evening following the rehearsal, Mr. and Mrs.
Arthurs will give a supper dance.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard D. Montgomery, of
Shady Avenue, went to Cambridge Springs
Wednesday, accompanied by their granddaughter,
Eleanor Jenkins, daughter of Mrs.
Alfred E. Jenkins, who is traveling at present.
Mr. Montgomery will return in a few
days. Mrs. Montgomery and her granddaughter
will remain at the Springs until
June when they will go to Canada, remaining
at the Royal Muskoka Hotel until September.
Mr. and Mrs. Royal Ellsworth Cook, of
Wilkinsburg, have announced the engagement
of their daughter, Miss Dorothy Mae
Cook to Mr. Chester L. Wentz, of Franklin.
The announcement was made at a luncheon
given April twenty-eighth at the Penn-
Lincoln Hotel, Wilkinsburg, in honor of Miss
Trinity Court Studio.

Dr. and Mrs. J. W. Heddeus, of Pasadena,
have announced the engagement of their
daughter, Miss Henrietta Z. Heddeus, to Mr.
Kennedy Hamill, formerly of Pittsburgh, eldest
son of Dr. and Mrs. Samuel McClintock
Hamill, of Philadelphia. Miss Heddeus, who
attended Dobbs Ferry, is a member of the
Junior League. Mr. Hamill graduated from
Yale in the class of 1920 and after living in
Pittsburgh for several years went to Los
Angeles.
Miss Katherine Collin, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. William W. Collin, Jr., of Edgeworth,
left Thursday night for Pottstown to attend
the annual senior prom at Hill School.
Dr. and Mrs. Henry Wilson Morrow, of
Irvine Avenue, Swissvale, have announcec'
the engagement of their daughter, Miss Darrel
Ewing Morrow, to Mr. Robert Charles
Todd, son of Mr. George A. Todd, of the
Schenley Apartments. Miss Morrow is a
gaduate of Winchester School and Wellesley
College. Mr. Todd was graduated from the
University of Pennsylvania.

Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Polland Brill,
James Street, will sail with Mr. and Mrs. Brill, her
sister Joan, and brothers, Polland junior and Ruud
Brill, June twenty-third for Europe. Miss Brill will
study in Paris with Marcel Grandjany, harpist.
