A fur<strong>the</strong>r south-eastern regional hub may be identified in <strong>the</strong> area north or north-east ofMeyerton in order to make more direct connection with <strong>the</strong> port initiatives of Port Elizabethand Durban.Twinning with existing inner-city hubs (City Deep in Johannesburg and Capital Park inTshwane) with <strong>the</strong> proposed regional hubs, and <strong>the</strong> rail and road linkages between <strong>the</strong>se,is to be a matter of fur<strong>the</strong>r detailed planning.The implementation of an adept logistics strategy is necessary to streng<strong>the</strong>n <strong>the</strong> economyand sustainability of <strong>Gauteng</strong>. Never<strong>the</strong>less it takes extensive capital investment to engineera logistics hub/ inland port or a next generation inland port.
