C.2.4. Obstacles and ChallengesThe first obstacle that arises is the motivation of parents and teachers toparticipate in the workshops. The schools would therefore have to help theparents to understand why the workshops are useful to them and theirchildren through parental meetings. They would also have to explain to theteachers the benefits they would get from them in their work with children.Another obstacle would be related to organizational issues, since theworkshops should be organized at a suitable time for parents to participate,i.e. in the evening or on weekends. It might also be necessary to motivatethe teachers to spend their free time in such workshops.An inevitable obstacle might be the financing of those activities. Schoolscan hardly allocate funds to pay for the preparation and implementation ofworkshops from their regular budget.One solution might be the application for funds such as this one; or to seekfunding from local administrations. It would indubitably be achievable inregions with established issues regarding minority pupils. Funding couldalso be obtained from the relevant ministry or organizations that deal withthis kind of issues.49
