PDI Procedures - Set Up<br />

• The handlebars are lowered to<br />

allow the motorcycle to fit into the<br />

crate for shipping. HANDLEBARS<br />

MUST BE ADJUSTED OR DAMAGE<br />

TO THE FUEL CAP MAY RESULT.<br />

• Loosen bar clamps on upper fork<br />

bridge. Raise bars until dimpled<br />

spot on bar is equal to mating surface<br />

of bar clamp and fork bridge.<br />

• Properly adjusted, bars should not<br />

be closer than 3 - 5mm to fuel filler<br />

door when open and bars full right.<br />

Torque bolts to 19 Nm (14 ft/lbs).<br />

• Hold mirror up to fairing mount<br />

location. Connect directional light<br />

connector (1) into wiring plug in fairing.<br />

• Align ball socket unions and press<br />

(snap) mirrors into place.<br />

• Locate case in shipping carton and<br />

prepare for installation. To remove<br />

interior covering, unscrew case top<br />

stop strap knurled screw anchor<br />

(3). Use a small screwdriver and<br />

press tabs (2) clear of stops and<br />

remove covering (ie: K <strong>1200</strong> LT).<br />

• Use shipping screws to install case<br />

to four mounting base threaded<br />

bores (1). The case mounts identically<br />

to K <strong>1200</strong> LT model.<br />

• Reinstall covering and reattach top<br />

case stop strap and knurled screw<br />

anchor.<br />
