PDI Procedures - Set Up<br />

• Make sure the tool kit is complete.<br />

Note the new unique R <strong>1200</strong> <strong>CL</strong><br />

tools included in the kit.<br />

• Tire inflation shrader valve tool<br />

• Ignition Coil removal tool<br />

• 90 O bend phillips head screw<br />

driver socket for removing rear<br />

directional light lens covers.<br />

• Radio Antenna wrench<br />

• Install Antenna using special tool as<br />

shown (from tool kit).<br />

• Thoroughly wash motorcycle to<br />

remove all transportation preservatives.<br />

• Inspect the motorcycle thoroughly<br />

for damage and or missing parts. If<br />

necessary, submit a QEW (MTAS).<br />

• If parts are needed, order them.<br />

Part costs are reimbursed via a<br />

warranty claim using defect codes:<br />

Parts missing - 10 01 00 00 00<br />

Parts damaged- 10 02 00 00 00<br />

Parts Incorrect - 10 03 00 00 00<br />

Install Antenna<br />

• At this point you have completed the set up portion of the Pre Delivery<br />

Inspection. Make sure an RO has been assigned to the PDI for the motorcycle<br />

and convey any information about missing or damaged parts to the<br />

parts department and warranty administrator.<br />

• Perform balance of Pre-delivery inspection checks as outlined on the Predelivery<br />

check sheet sample on the next page. PDI checklists are accessed<br />

online from the MTAS (Aftersales> Service> Technical Information). As a<br />

time saving tip, print out multiple copies and store them for future R<br />

<strong>1200</strong> C models.<br />
