PDI Procedures - Check Side Stand Function<br />
Check Side Stand Operation<br />
• Check for smooth side stand movement.<br />
Add BMW Lube if necessary<br />
(arrow).<br />
• Check side stand safety function.<br />
With transmission in gear and ignition<br />
key on, raise side stand to up<br />
position and listen for audible fuel<br />
pump operation cycle. This signifies<br />
proper safety operation.<br />
Rear Spring Preload<br />
• Turn knob fully out counter clockwise<br />
(to low position).<br />
Basic Setting (solo): Turn knob in to<br />
first increment line (red dot).<br />
Setting for two up/luggage: Turn knob<br />
in to High setting increment line.<br />
Check rear wheel stud torque<br />
• 105 Nm (76 Ft lb.)<br />
• Record your verified torque value<br />
on the PDI Check List.<br />
