Recalls using BMW DCSnet<br />

BMW inspections/services I, II, III, IV<br />

Check Motronic and ABS fault<br />

memories with MoDiTeC<br />

BMW inspections/services I, II, III, IV<br />

• Connect MoDiTeC to diagnostic<br />

plug.<br />

• Read the fault memories of each<br />

system. Print out trace report and<br />

place into history file as proof completion.<br />

• If faults are logged, contact owner<br />

for approval. When advised, perform<br />

any diagnosis and repair work<br />

as necessary.<br />

Check Brake Fluid Levels and perform<br />

Integral ABS Bleed Test<br />

BMW inspections/services I, II, III, IV<br />

• Refer to procedure on page 54 of<br />

this manual.<br />

Check Tires<br />

BMW inspections/services I, II, III, IV<br />

• Check tire sidewalls and tread<br />

grooves<br />

• Check Tire Pressures. Tire pressures<br />

are same for all conditions<br />

(solo, 2-up, & 2-up with luggage).<br />

Front: 2.5 bar (36.25 psi)<br />

Rear: 2.9 bar (42.05 psi)<br />

Check ABS sensors and pulse<br />

wheels for correct gap/contamination<br />

BMW inspections/services I, II, III, IV<br />

• Adjust and clean as required<br />

• Speed sensor gap 0.2-1.5mm<br />

Check Clutch Operating Fluid<br />

BMW inspections/services I, II, III, IV<br />

• With motorcycle on center stand,<br />

turn the handlebar fully to the right.<br />

• Desired fluid level when clutch lining<br />

is new is center of sight glass.<br />

Check Clutch Fluid Level<br />

• If necessary, add DOT 4 brake fluid.<br />

Note: Fluid level will increase as the<br />

clutch plate wears. Fluid level must not<br />

fall below minimum (center dot). If a<br />

large amount of fluid is needed to<br />

bring level up, consider the possibility<br />

of a leak in the hydraulic actuating system.<br />
