PDI Procedures - Accessing Battery<br />

• Remove both Left and Right side<br />

painted trim covers (2) by removing<br />

two screws (1).<br />

• Remove fuel tank mounting bolts<br />

and washers (1).<br />

• Gently lift rear of tank and unplug<br />

fuel pump connector (4)<br />

• Disconnect two breather lines (3).<br />

Note orientation and routing for<br />

reinstallation.<br />

• Release the quick disconnect fuel<br />

lines (2) by pressing the release<br />

catch (5) on each fitting.<br />

• Handle the fuel tank gently to prevent<br />

paint damage. Lift the fuel tank<br />

at the rear and pull backward to<br />

remove from forward mounts.<br />

Note: The fuel system quick disconnect<br />

fittings are sealed by an O’ring which can<br />

be damaged if the fitting is not reinstalled<br />

correctly.<br />

Always inspect the seal for damage prior<br />

to reconnecting this fitting. Always reset<br />

the latch plates on the female half of each<br />

union so the two halves can reconnect.<br />

When reconnecting, gently slide the two<br />

halves together squarely until an audible<br />

click is heard. Always visually check the fitting<br />

as well to ensure the union is sealed.<br />

If the O’ring needs replacement order only<br />

the O’ring which is available separately.<br />
