9 Participations and recording of dividends from subsidiaries<br />

Participations are accounted for at acquisition cost less provisions for impairment. Dividends from<br />

fully-consolidated subsidiaries of Swisscom Ltd are recognised in the year in respect of which the<br />

dividend is proposed. The dividends of the subsidiary companies have been approved at their<br />

respective Annual General Shareholder Meetings. A list of direct and indirect shareholdings of<br />

Swisscom Ltd is provided in Note 41 to the consolidated financial statements.<br />

10 Assets subject to restriction<br />

As of 31 December 2010, term deposits totalling CHF 93 million (prior year: CHF 85 million) could<br />

not be freely disposed of. These assets serve to secure liabilities arising from cross-border lease<br />

arrangements. See Note 26 to the consolidated financial statements.<br />

11 Information on risk assessment process<br />

Swisscom Ltd is fully integrated into the risk assessment process of Swisscom Group. This groupwide<br />

risk-assessment process also takes into consideration the nature and scope of business activities<br />

and the specific risks of Swisscom Ltd. See Note 39 to the consolidated financial statements.<br />
