Information on reporting according to GRI guidelines<br />
In this report Swisscom discloses its commitments and provides information on the activities carried<br />
out in 2010.<br />
Guidelines and application level<br />
The applicable guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI 3) determine the scope and content<br />
of the sustainability report. GRI is the world’s leading standard for corporate sustainability<br />
reporting. Swisscom is of the opinion that the 2010 annual report complies with application level<br />
A+ of GRI guideline 3. SGS AG has examined and confirmed this view.<br />
Index<br />
The GRI Index provides a standardised overview of reporting which is broken down by subject.<br />
Each subject in the index contains a reference to the relevant pages of the Annual Report or other<br />
sources of information.<br />
Reporting boundary<br />
Sustainability reporting according to GRI is limited to the following: All Group companies domiciled<br />
in Switzerland which are fully consolidated in accordance with International Financial Reporting<br />
Standards (IFRS). Acquisitions are included from the date of acquisition, and disposals up to<br />
the date of disposal.<br />
Group companies domiciled abroad and investments in associates and joint ventures are not<br />
included in the reporting boundary. The main foreign shareholdings are Fastweb and the Swisscom<br />
Hospitality Group. The closely related foundations comPlan (pension fund) as well as sovis are also<br />
not included. The section on the corporate structure and organisations illustrates the scope of the<br />
GRI including the legal structure.<br />
Environmental indicators: The data compilation system covers all buildings in Switzerland managed<br />
by Swisscom Real Estate Management. In terms of the workforce in Switzerland, the report<br />
covers 94% of FTEs.<br />
Employee indicators (in particular the personnel structure, fluctuation and absences due to accident<br />
and illness) cover more than 95% of FTEs.<br />
Group directives governing the various GRI sustainability topics are issued to Swisscom’s subsidiaries.<br />
Various Group targets do not apply to all subsidiaries within the defined reporting boundary<br />
and are accordingly not introduced. The subsidiaries not covered by the scope of the Group targets<br />
are of minimal relevance for the respective sustainability topic. The scope will be reviewed in<br />
2011 and adjusted if necessary.<br />
