Occupational Health & Safety (OHS)<br />

We are firmly committed to maintaining a safe and<br />

healthy working environment for our employees. Health<br />

management involves strengthening our employees’<br />

physical, mental and social wellbeing.<br />

A free medical Centre has been established at site providing<br />

medical facilities to the employees. Keeping in view the<br />

occupational health of employees, regular first aid and CPR<br />

training programs are conducted to ensure safe health of<br />

workers.<br />

The Company is OHSAS 18001:2007 compliant.<br />

Business Ethics & Anti-corruption Measures<br />

The Company ensures ethical compliance with all regulatory<br />

and governing bodies while conducting its operations.<br />

The Company has formulated various polices including<br />

“Code of Conduct”, “Whistle Blowing Policy” and “Policy<br />

on Sexual Harassment”. The Company ensures effective<br />

implementation of these polices through its training,<br />

management standards and procedures, with an aims to<br />

develop a disciplined and constructive control environment<br />

in which all employees understand their roles and<br />

obligations.<br />

Employees are encouraged to report any “kickbacks” deals.<br />

No employee is allowed to run a parallel business.<br />

National Cause Donations<br />

The company encourages contributing to the national cause<br />

in the form of donations to Government Schemes.<br />

Contribution To National Exchequer<br />

During the year, the Company has contributed an amount of<br />

Rs. 2,309.199 million towards national exchequer in shape of<br />

taxes, duties, cess, levies etc.<br />

Rural Development Programs<br />

The Company is working hard to initiate and sustain rural<br />

development programs for the enhancement of health of the<br />

rural population along with infrastructure development of the<br />

areas.<br />

Mitigating Efforts To Control Industry Effluents<br />

In order to mitigate the effects of industrial effluents on the<br />

surrounding environment, the Company is putting forth all<br />

efforts for providing a healthy environment to employees and<br />

natives. In this regard following major environment friendly<br />

efforts have been carried out by the Company:<br />

1. Installation of dust collection system for environment<br />

protection.<br />

2. Introduction of clean coal technology to reduce the<br />

emissions of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide.<br />

3. Plantation is carried out to ensure a healthy and green<br />

environment.<br />

4. Keeping in view the occupational health of employees,<br />

regular first aid and CPR training programs are<br />

conducted to ensure the safe health of workers.<br />

Further, the Company is in compliance with ISO-14001:2015.<br />

Energy Saving Measures Taken By The Company<br />

And The Company’s Plans To Overcome The<br />

Escalating Energy Crisis<br />

At Mughal Steel our main priority is efficient use of limited<br />

energy resources available. Successful operations of new<br />

energy efficient melting furnaces and re-rolling mills have<br />

contributed towards efficient performance in addition to<br />

overall improvement in energy consumption.<br />
