JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research is entering the second decade of its fruitful existence,<br />
coupled with a vision of modern excellence, after creating a niche for itself which is hard to match<br />
in such a short span of one decade. The Deemed-to-be-University, since its inception, has moved to<br />
become an Academy of Higher Education & Research receiving many accolades both nationally and<br />
internationally. This shows the quality of education and research available in the corridors of this<br />
organization, and its desire to excel its own standards. This ideal has been inculcated in the framework<br />
of the institution and followed, with a sense of commitment, by all those working in the Academy. It<br />
may be difficult to reach the pinnacle, but, even more difficult to remain there. It can be achieved only<br />
by continued and dedicated work in the pursuit of excellence. In achieving these objectives, the basic<br />
purpose to serve the society should also be kept on a top priority.<br />
The JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research is presenting its <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Report</strong> 2017-18, having a<br />
motto as “Quality and Excellence”. This is not only a technical requirement for any institution, but a<br />
way of projecting its meaningful blossoming.<br />
His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, the present pontiff and the 24th<br />
Peethadhyaksha of Sri Jagadguru Veerasimhasana Suttur Math, assumed the Peetha in 1986 at the<br />
young age of 29 years. He had his spiritual training under the guidance of his illustrious predecessor<br />
His Holiness Jagadguru Dr Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji the founder president of the JSS<br />
Mahavidyapeetha, an educational and cultural organization dedicated to the ideal of providing<br />
education to the villages of Karnataka.<br />
His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, the Honourable Chancellor of<br />
JSS Academy of Higher Eduction & Research - a visionary, endeavoured not only to cross the<br />
Vindhyas and establish engineering colleges, schools, etc at NOIDA (UP) and the JSS Spiritual and<br />
Cultural Centre at New Delhi but also travelled beyond the shores of the country and established<br />
the presence of the Math in USA, Mauritius and Dubai. His efforts to reach out to the core of the<br />
problems that challenge our society be it literacy , health care, employment or building values<br />
amongst the society is lauded and recognised by one and all. It is His Vision that has taken the<br />
Deemed university to achieve significant milestones in a short span of ten years and be recognised<br />
as one of the most progressive universities in the field of Health Sciences.
