A Continuing Dental Education (CDE) program titled “All Ceramic restorations and Communication skills –<br />
A dental perspective was organized by Department of Prosthodontics, JSS Dental College & Hospital, and<br />
Constituent College of JSS AHER on 1st of February 2017 at Gowrishankara Auditorium. At the inauguration<br />
Dr. P A Kushalappa, Director (Academics), JSS AHER and Dr. Chandrakanth, Prof & HOD, Dept of Forensic<br />
Medicine, JSS Medical College addressed the gathering. The speakers for scientific session were Dr. Jayashree<br />
Hegde Anil who enlightened the delegates on “Anterior all ceramic restorations” followed by Mr. Shivappa,<br />
Director, Excellent HRD Consultants who spoke on communication skills – A dental perspective. This programme<br />
was attended by about 120 delegates including faculties, Undergraduates and Post Graduates of Dental colleges<br />
and General Dental Practitioners in and around Mysore.<br />

A CDE program on “3D PRINTING AND ITS APPLICATIONS FOR HEALTH CARE” was organized by Department<br />
of Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge, JSS Dental College and Hospital, on 8th December 2017. At the<br />
inauguration, Dr Manjunatha B, Registrar, JSS AHER and Dr Ravindra S, Principal, addressed the gathering.<br />
The speaker for the scientific session was Mr Guru Prasad Rao, Director of Imaginarium India Pvt. Ltd and Mr<br />
Jitendra Singh, Business development, Imaginarium India Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, who enlightened the audience<br />
about 3D printing and its applications for health care. Demonstrations were conducted on clinical cases.<br />
3D printing also known as additive manufacturing refers to processes used to create a 3D object in which<br />
layers of material are formed under computer central to create an object of almost any shape and geometry. In<br />
Dentistry, 3D printing is used for fabrication of implants, surgical templates and missing orofacial structures.<br />
The programme was attended by faculty, undergraduates and post graduates of Dental, Medical, Pharmacy<br />
colleges and General Dental Practitioners in and around Mysuru. A total of about 100 delegates benefitted from<br />
this programme.<br />
