World Oral Health Day <strong>2018</strong><br />
On the eve of World Oral Health Day, the team of Doctors and House Surgeons from Department of Public<br />
Health Dentistry, JSS Dental College & Hospital, A Constituent College of JSS Academy of Higher Education &<br />
Research, Mysuru organized World Oral Health Day on 19th March <strong>2018</strong> at Bhugathagalli, Varuna Hobli, Mysuru<br />
Taluk.<br />
The theme for this year being “Say Ahh: Think Mouth, Think Health”. It reflects the benefits of a healthy mouth<br />
and to promote awareness of the issues around oral health and the importance of oral hygiene to looking after<br />
every old and young.<br />
Worldwide, 90% of the population is at risk from some form of oral diseases, ranging from caries, periodontal<br />
diseases to oral cancer. World Oral Health Day provides an opportunity to create awareness and encourage<br />
individuals, families, communities and governments to take measures to lower the incidence of these oral<br />
diseases.<br />
The first line of oral health care starts with individual through prevention, especially good brushing habits and<br />
regular check-ups. World Oral Health Day thus was celebrated by conducting Dental Check up, Oral Hygiene<br />
Instructions and Treatment. Oral Care Products were also distributed to the Residents and Government School<br />
Children of Bhugathagalli, Varuna Hobli, Mysuru Taluk.<br />
