Winners of Intercollegiate Scientific Poster Competition<br />
MekhalaNagabushanChitagudigi (Research Scholar under Dr.Chandan S) presented a Poster entitled<br />
“Attenuation of Anthranilate synthase a Potential to Treat S. pneumoniae and related complications” under the<br />
theme Medical Biotechnology atNational Conference on Innovations and Future Challenges in Biotechnology<br />
held at Sri Venkateshwara University, Tirupathi, on 26 – 28th of March <strong>2018</strong>, and won Best Poster Award.<br />

PoojaBhagavat Memorial Mahajana Education Centre Metagalli, K.R.S Road, Mysuru had conducted intercollegiate<br />
scientific poster competition on “Scientific discovery & its application” on 22nd March <strong>2018</strong>. Dr.GirishChandran<br />
organizing secretary, Dr. Jyoti Bala Chauhan convener and Dr.C.K. Renukarya Director of PPMMEC conducted this<br />
competition for Biotechnology and Microbiology students. Students - Amritha S R and Syeda Nayaab of II year BSc<br />
Biotechnology, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, under UG section secured 1stprize, cash award<br />
and best poster presentation award for the poster titled “Biomedical applications of Magnetic Iron Oxide Nano<br />
Particles” under the guidance of Dr.AshaSrinivasan, Assistant Professor, Division of Nanoscienec & Technology,<br />
JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research. Dr. Komal Kumar, Scientist, University of Helsinki, Finland &<br />
Dr. Geetha Professor of Biotechnology, University of Mysore were the honorary judges of this competition.<br />
National Conference on “Integrative Medicine and Health Care”<br />
Department of Biochemistry, JSS Medical College conducted a National Conference on Integrative Medicine<br />
and Health Care which was held on 23rd and 24th February <strong>2018</strong>. MSc IV semester Mr. Rishikesh Mishra and<br />
N. Sai Pawan of Faculty of Life Sciences, doing a research project under the guidance of Dr. Asha Srinivasan,<br />
Division of Nanoscience& Technology, Faculty of Life Sciences, participated in the poster and won First prize<br />
and Best poster award in the competition.<br />

Therapy” under the theme Nano Biotechnology atNational Conference on Innovations and Future Challenges in<br />
Biotechnology held at Sri Venkateshwara University, Tirupathi, on 26 – 28th of March <strong>2018</strong>, and received the<br />
Young Scientist Award.<br />
