National Service Scheme (NSS)<br />
CELEBRATION OF COURSE COMPLETION DAY ON MAY 19, 2017<br />
On 19th May 2017, Faculty of Life Sciences, JSS AHER witnessed a unique event at Sri Rajendra Auditorium<br />
of JSS College of Pharmacy. ‘CCD 2K17’ that stands for Course Completion Day is a thoughtful substitute<br />
for the farewell parties for the outgoing students of an institution. The evening was started with a Carnatic<br />
vocal by Mr.Rakshith accompanied by Master Varchas on mridangam. The Director-technical of ‘Green Life<br />
Science Technologies’, Kannada Rajyotsava Awardee, Dr. Vasanth Kumar Timkapura was the chief guest.Dr.<br />
P.A Kushalappa Director-Academics JSS AHER, Dr. Balasubramanian Director-Research JSS AHER were the<br />
distinguished guests of honour. Chairman Prof. G K Chandrashekarappa, Head of the Department Dr.Dattatri K<br />
Nagesha and staff members of FLS were also present. The evening was filled with a lot of cultural events from<br />
both faculty and students. An array of performances of songs, dance performances, skits and games thrilled<br />
the audience.<br />
SEED BALL SOWING PROGRAMME BY NSS<br />
Volunteers of NSS from JSS AHER including the University departments: Department of Water and Health,<br />
Department of Health System Management Studies, JSS Medical, Dental and Pharmacy College participated in<br />
seed sowing programme “Vrukshaaropana 2017” held at Mutatti Forest Area, Malavalli, Mandya on 16th July<br />
2017. Volunteers and NSS Programme Officers were involved in dispersing around 2 lakh seeds across the<br />
forest area. Dr. KL Krishna, NSS Programme Coordinator, JSS AHER, Dr. Sunil Kumar, Dr. Gowrav Kumar and<br />
Mr. Raghu Ram Achar, Respective NSS Programme Officers were present.<br />

ANNUAL SPORTS MEET<br />
The Department of Water and Health, Faculty of Life<br />
Sciences, organised its <strong>Annual</strong> Sports Meet on 17 -<br />
11- 17 and 18 - 11 - 17. The two-day sports meet<br />
was inaugurated by Dr. B. Manjunatha, Registrar, JSS<br />
University and Dr.Kushalappa, Director of Academics.<br />
Sri. G. K. Chandrashekarappa, Chairman, Faculty of<br />
Life Sciences, and Mr. Lokeshappa, Director of Physical<br />
Education, JSS University, Smt. P. Ashwini, Sports<br />
Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Microbiology,<br />
Faculty of Life Sciences, were also present for the<br />
inauguration of the event.<br />

Short film competitionwas conducted in Department<br />
of Health System Management Studies, JSS Dental<br />
College building, Mysuru from 10:30am to 12 noon on<br />
8-9-17 on thetopic “What can I do for a clean India?”<br />
The valedictory function was conducted on Saturday 18- 11-17 at 4 PM. Shri G. R. Parameshwarappa ,<br />
President, Akhila Bharat Sharana Sahitya Parishath , Mysuru presided as the chief guest for this event and gave<br />
away the prizes.
