2.2.4. DAY PROGRAMMES

AND ROUTINES

Consider: Detect the children’s mood, arouse their

curiosity and win their trust.

Changing phases

n Searching–lingering

n Excitement–relaxation

n Individual–group

n Movement–quietness

Highlight days:

n Superhero Day

n Pirate Day

n Adventure Day

The first day in the Children Club

The first day in the hotel facilities is the most important

and decisive day: Children are still a bit reluctant. They

approach cautiously and do not know what to expect.

They are insecure and need you, the entertainer as

orientation guidance. Mainly in the beginning everything

is new and unknown. Please mind runaways and children,

who are crying.

Radiate tranquillity and give parents the good feeling

that you have the overview over the kids’ world and the

kids. They entrust their children to you! Minis will be

accompanied by their parents to the club.

During registration different items of the program are

possible:

n Make a tour together through the Children Club

n Tell a story

n Free play on the grounds

n Paint a picture

n Free play with a selected toy

When completing the registration form the most

important points of the Children Club are explained to

the parents.

1. Children are always accompanied to and picked up

from the club by their parents personally. In order to

do so they inscribe their children in the attendance

list and also unsubscribe them. Siblings, 14 years and

older can pick up their younger siblings with written

approval of their parents.

2. What do I do when a child is not three years old yet,

but the parents bring it to the club?

Friendly, but nevertheless determined, explain to the

parents that participation in the program on their

own is possible for children aged 3 and older. Younger

children cannot participate for insurance legal reasons.

You cannot take over the responsibility. Offer

them the alternative that child can stay together

with a parent. Not all programs are suitable for very

young children, and an adult’s support is needed. In

this case it is the parent supporting the child, as you

have to look after a group of children at the same

time. In case of problems please refer to the tour

guide; all services are determined in the catalogue.

3. Today’s program, highlights of the week, evening

program

4. Opening times, meeting points and where to find the

program information on the info board.

5. Important: The explanation that we are not offering

a kindergarten or child minding, but children entertainment.

Parents need to be available and reachable

in the club facilities during the Children Club opening

times. Do not forget, children (and parents) need to

be on your side. Try to catch them with interesting,

exciting topics!

Red thread through the program:

Example: It is your beach day – everything is focused

on the topic beach today. Building sand castles, races or

other games, all is focused on water, sea, sea shells and

the beach.

Children love stories, and they believe what you tell

them. Therefore wrap each day into an exciting adventure.

On pirates day for example you can tell the story

about pirates or tell them about the ships you saw early

that morning…You are also part of the history, i.e. you

are living the program and are part of it with your

costume, make-up etc. …

It is extremely important to create a special ambiance

that allows the children to dive into the adventure with

all their fantasy and completely identify with the story.
