7.3. MISSING CHILD GUIDELINE

If the procedures are carried out correctly all kids club

staff in session should be fully aware of all children within

their care and this should match the number on the

session register. We have provided a procedure in the

unlikely event of a child going missing from session.

Missing child from kids club

Staff to communicate to each other that a child

is missing.

Staff 1- to stay with the remaining children and

keep them together in a secure place.

Staff 2- complete a quick search of the area

where activity is being held.

If child found is in activity area parents must

be informed at sign out and also inform

Line Manager.

If child isn’t in the activity area then staff 2 will

need to raise the alarm to Guest relations who

can raise the alarm so a search can begin

(details of search on lost child emergency card).

This should be done by using the telephone to

speed up the process. Using the plans/maps of

the hotel staff to have a clear picture of what

area they are searching. Parents also need to be

alerted.

If hotel grounds have been searched and the

child still isn’t found then the local authorities

or police need to be informed.

Child found. Parents must be called and all

details must be recorded on relevant forms.

GM/Opps Manager/Guests relations must be

informed immediately.

If a Parent reports missing child whilst you

are in session, your primary responsibility is

the children signed into your care. You will be

expected to raise the alarm by making a phone

call to guest relations to alert other staff members

to help find the child. If approached outside

of session, you will still need to raise the

alarm for others to assist. Ensure your Line

Manager/Guest relations must be informed.

must be displayed in the Kids Club office
