Time keeping competition
Objective of the game is how long one minute takes. All
children sit with closed eyes in the floor. The entertainer
gives the signal and has a look at the clock. As
soon as a child thinks a minute is over it stands up. The
entertainer takes care whose guess was closest. This
child gets a point and the next round can start.
Changed picture competition:
Material: Paper, pens
One player is the painter and paints a picture. The
others shall remember this picture. Then all players
turn away; and the painter makes some changes to his
picture. The child who guesses first is the winner.
Stadium
The kids are in a fictive stadium; only one child leaves
the stadium and waits to be called in. In the mean time
the others decide which match can be seen, i.e. boxing,
baseball, tennis, football etc. When the player outside is
called in again, the public starts to follow the match and
make relating gestures and movements, noises and talking
is not allowed. Will the player recognise which
sport it is?
Please pass on
All children, apart from one, are sitting in a circle. The
one child is not in the room. Now the others decide
which item will be passed on. It makes a big difference,
if it is a dog, a small cat, a towel a TV, a mouse or an ice
cube. As soon as this decision is made, the child can
come back into the room and sees how the item is passed
on. Will it find out which item?
Comparison
Objective of this game is to precisely observe and
remember details. All children are standing in a circle or
in a row. The observing player has a good look at all
children. Who wears glasses, who has the blue pullover…
Then he leaves for moment and the children exchange
some items. What has been changed?
Musical chairs with balloons
Material: Balloons and music
You require as many blown up balloons as there are
children. As soon as the music starts the children start
throwing the balloons in the air. When the music stops,
the children need to catch a balloon each. This is the
intro round. Now take one balloon away and play it
similar to musical chairs.
Winking
In the beginning each child chooses a partner. Then
children sit in a circle, their partners are sitting behind
them. One child is selected to be wink. The partner
behind the children is only allowed to look on their
partner’s heads. Now the child in the middle starts winking
at a child in the circle who then tries to stand up
and get away. His partner needs to react quickly and
hold the other child back. If he cannot manage he will
go in the middle and wink, if yes the child in the middle
tries again.
Wave surfing
If the children are wearing jewellery and watches or
belts with buckles, they put it off. Then they all lay
down on the floor in one row, face down on their
tummy. Between them is only a little space, maybe the
width of a child’s body. The first surfer knees at one
end of the row and trusts the water. Now the wave
starts moving. From the beginning of the end of the
row the children start turning all in the same direction.
Like this the surfer will be moving.
Whiskey smuggling
Material: Large buckets, mugs, water, material to separate
Build two teams: Smugglers and police. If possible there
should be no sources of danger on the grounds such as
trees or similar. The smugglers have an empty bucket
on their land. Their land is marked up and only smugglers
are allowed on this piece of land. This piece of land
is close to the police’s land which is very spacious. On
the other side of the police’s land is the land with the
whiskey. (There is a bucket with water) Now the smugglers
need to smuggle as much whiskey as possible in
their mugs through the police land. If a police man touches
them, they have to spill the whiskey immediately.
After 5 minutes teams are being changed. Winner is
who could smuggle the most whiskey. There also might
be penalty times for bad behaviour of the smugglers.
Foot artists
Material: Old papers, paper, water colours, brushes
No normal painting will be created, but a painting made
with the legs and toes. Try it out!
Stone mosaic:
Material: Stones
Collect all different kind of stones together: bigger
ones, smaller ones, round ones…
Each child has its stones, start a mosaic. Or lay a silhouette
and let the other guess what it is.
