tion seems to be absent in the débitage of La Cathédrale de Basse-Terre, which is
why I prefer to associate this débitage with the discoid method than with the Levalloisian
one.
Conclusion
Different elements can be emphasized from the short analysis above. First, the distinction
between early Cedrosan Saladoid and the Huecan Saladoid, initially based
on the analysis of the ceramic remains and subsequently extended to other elements
(Oliver 1999) can also be identified in the lithic reduction methods as far as
the actual southernmost extension of the Huecan culture: Guadeloupe. This assertion
gives a greater importance to the distinction between the Cedrosan and the
Huecan Saladoid. However, some of the differences identified seem to vary according
to the geographical context. This is the situation for the mode of introduction
