In boreholes, excavation and trenches with high organic vapor concentrations (> 100 ppm total
VOCs above background), the excavation will be halted and re-evaluated for differing site
conditions (see Table 10-1 for VOC action levels and response). This will help allow activities to
be conducted safely in Level D. Site personnel will remain upwind of the boreholes and
excavations at all times, unless air monitoring results determine that downwind activities are
safe.
