METHOD OPTIMISATION<br />
3.3.4 Limits <strong>of</strong> detection <strong>and</strong> quantification <strong>of</strong> PBDEs <strong>and</strong> musk fragrances<br />
LOD <strong>and</strong> LOQ <strong>of</strong> musk fragrances were below 1 pg μL -1 . Only HHCB <strong>and</strong> MX D15 were<br />
detected with LOQ <strong>and</strong> LOD <strong>of</strong> 1.8 pg μL -1 <strong>and</strong> 6.6 pg μL -1 , respectively. With incre<strong>as</strong>ing<br />
molecule m<strong>as</strong>s <strong>of</strong> PBDEs, LOD <strong>and</strong> LOQ incre<strong>as</strong>ed in the EI mode. With the exception <strong>of</strong><br />
BDE209, PDBE detection limits were below 1 pg μL using NCI mode. A detailed list <strong>of</strong> LOD<br />
<strong>and</strong> LOQ <strong>of</strong> PBDEs <strong>and</strong> musk fragrances in EI <strong>and</strong> NCI mode is presented in table 12.<br />
