STUDY 1: LANDFILLS AS SOURCES<br />

None <strong>of</strong> the PBDE congeners w<strong>as</strong> detected in any <strong>of</strong> the g<strong>as</strong> ph<strong>as</strong>e samples. BDE183 w<strong>as</strong><br />

detected in all particle-ph<strong>as</strong>e samples. Concentrations at LA3, LA4, RF6 <strong>and</strong> RF9 were lower<br />

than filter blanks. BDE183 concentrations in remaining LA samples <strong>and</strong> corresponding RF<br />

were between 1 <strong>and</strong> 3 pg m -3 . Figure 15 presents BDE183 concentration in the particle ph<strong>as</strong>e<br />

from l<strong>and</strong>fill LB <strong>and</strong> its corresponding RF. Concentrations in samples in l<strong>and</strong>fill LB ranged<br />

from 1 to 11 pg m -3 . In corresponding RF, BDE183 w<strong>as</strong> constantly observed at concentrations<br />

in the range <strong>of</strong>
