Sir David Alan Chipperfield CH สถาปนิกชาวอังกฤษที่มี

Sir David Alan Chipperfield CH, a British architect
with design offices across multiple European cities
as well as Shanghai, has been named the latest
recipient of the Pritzker Architecture Prize 2023, the
most prestigious international architectural award
given to architectural professionals. Over the last
four decades, Sir David Alan Chipperfield has created
over a hundred projects encompassing various
genres and locations, including Asia, Europe, and
North America. His portfolio spans everything from
public cultural and office buildings to educational
institutions and residential and urban planning
projects.
The Pritzker Prize is awarded in recognition of each
laureate’s talent, vision, and desire to better the lives
of people and the evolution of the built environment
through the art of architecture. Chipperfield’s works
have demonstrated a strong understanding of environmental
and historical implications, as well as the
recognition and acceptance of pre-existing creations,
both natural and manmade. Instead of replacing
or constructing newly created modern architectural
structures, his design and intervention through meaningful
and thoughtful dialogues with time and places
allow for the contextual applications and revival of
architectural languages that genuinely correspond
with their places of origin. His approach to design
may be seen in many restoration and renovation
projects of old, already-existing structures, such as
Berlin’s Museum Island or the Neue Nationalgalerie,
Mies van der Rohe’s last major project in Berlin.
