Villa Lanta ส่วนต่อขยายของ Twin Lotus Resort Koh
Lanta เป็นบ้านพักอาศัยริมทะเลที่ถูกออกแบบโดยคำนึงถึง
ภูมิอากาศแบบร้อนชื้น และลักษณะสถาปัตยกรรมพื้นถิ่น
ของภาคใต้ สู่ที่มาของการออกแบบตัวบ้านที่เน้นในเรื่อง
ของความโดดเด่นของหลังคา ด้วยทรงจั่วขนาดใหญ่พิเศษ
มีองศาการลาดเอียงของหลังคาที่ชัน และมีชายคาที่ยื่นยาว
เพื่อตอบโจทย์การป้องกันแดดและฝน ไปจนถึงการเลือก
ใช้วัสดุหลังคา เฌอร่า ซีดาร์ เชค ที่มีความทนทานสูงและ
ยังมาพร้อมกับระบบ Inter-Lock ช่วยป้องกันการรั่วซึมของ
น้ำ เหมาะกับสภาพภูมิอากาศแถบภาคใต้ที่ถูกขนานนามว่า
ฝน 8 แดด 4 อีกทั้งสีสันของหลังคา เฌอร่า ซีดาร์ เชค ยังมี
พื้นผิวที่สวยงามเสมือนไม้จริง และมีหน้ากว้างของผลิตภัณฑ์
ถึง 3 ขนาด ทำให้สามารถจัดเรียงแผ่นหลังคาได้อย่างอิสระ
ช่วยให้สถาปัตยกรรมเกิดความกลมกลืนเป็นหนึ่งเดียวกับ
ธรรมชาติยิ่งขึ้น
“เราอยากให้บ้านมีลักษณะที่สะท้อนถึงสถาปัตยกรรมพื้นถิ่น
ภาคใต้ และมีความกลมกลืนกับบริบทเดิมของโครงการ Villa
Lanta ที่อาคารใช้กระเบื้องแป้นเกล็ด แต่ด้วยความที่งาน
ออกแบบส่วนต่อขยายนี้เป็นการออกแบบบ้านเพื่อการใช้งาน
ที่ไม่ต้องการดูแลรักษาบ่อยนัก เราจึงมองหาวัสดุมุงหลังคา
ที่มีความทนทาน แต่ยังได้ความรู้สึกเป็นธรรมชาติคล้ายกับ
แป้นเกล็ดไม้จริง จนมาเจอ หลังคา เฌอร่า ซีดาร์ เชค ที่เข้า
มาตอบโจทย์ความเป็นธรรมชาติได้ดี มีการคละสีที่ดูเป็น
ธรรมชาติแผ่นคล้ายกับไม้จริงๆ โดยเราได้เลือกเฉดสีเป็น
สีเมโทร เกรย์ (Metro Grey) มาใช้ เพราะอยากให้ส่วนของ
พื้นที่หลังคาเป็นสีเทาเข้มตัดกับตัวบ้านที่เป็นสีขาวล้วน
ตอบโจทย์กับแนวคิดในการออกแบบ” ศุภชัย เขียวงาม

เลือกใช้วัสดุในการออกแบบครั้งนี้
Villa Lanta, the latest addition to The Twins Lotus Resort
Koh Lanta, is a beachside villa generated with major
climate conditions and southern indigenous design in
focus. This is because the dwelling’s conceptual design
meets the picture. The resort with an outstanding roof
incorporates an expanse of gable roofs with an upward
slope and an enlarged roof over an external wall for
deeper rain and sun protection. The architect utilized
SHERA Zedar Shake, an aesthetically pleasing alter
native roof design material that is highly durable as well
as having an Inter-Lock system for avoiding leakage of
water. This is suggested for the climate of the southern
region, which has been recognized for possessing a
total of eight months of rain and four months of sun.
Additionally, the texture of the SHERA Zedar Shake
roof has an appealing surface that’s comparable to
natural wood. With three sizes of product width selections,
it allows the roofing sheets to be contributed
randomly and naturally, enabling the architecture to
be more accessible and in peace with nature.
“We would like to design the house to reflect the southern
vernacular architecture style and blend with the original
context of the Villa Lanta project, where the building
uses the teak wood roofing shingles or Paen Gled.”
Vacation residences, adhering to the low-maintenance
fundamental nature, should not require the same upkeep
compared to conventional homes. We attempt durable
roofing materials with a natural feel, which includes real
wood. We rediscovered SHERA Zedar Shake, which
complimented the natural response. There are plenty of
colors that appear natural, similar to authentic wood.We
chose Metro Gray as we projected the roofing to be dark
gray to contrast with the white house. It is a wonderful
option for our design concept, according to Suphachai
Somdul, a professional architect who touched on the
materials utilized in the design.

งานสถาปัตยกรรมในประเทศไทยที่มีภูมิอากาศในลักษณะ
แบบร้อนชื้น จึงจำเป็นต้องมองไปถึงเรื่องของความทนทาน
ต่อสภาพอากาศที่เปลี่ยนแปลงบ่อย ยิ่งไปกว่านั้น หากเป็น
สภาพภูมิอากาศในแถบภาคใต้ของประเทศไทยหรือเป็น
อาคารติดริมทะเล ที่ต้องเจอกับไอทะเลและฝนตกชุกตลอดปี
ก็อาจส่งผลเสียต่อโครงสร้างและวัสดุอาคารให้เกิดการผุพัง
เร็วกว่าเวลาอันควร
Moisture and humidity in the atmosphere are considered
to be key hazards to many materials for construction in
our experience. When confronting turbulence in weather
conditions, material selection over architecture work in
a tropical region like Thailand requires to be brought
out from a sustainability perspective. This is especially
important in the southern portion of Thailand, where
buildings have been raised with the coast close, impacting
construction structures and materials and causing
premature deterioration from heavy rain all year.
