5.5 Maximum likelihood analysis 137 We have split the sample of on-resonance candidates in two according to the charge of the reconstructed B meson. Fitting the yield of signal and background events, we find Æ Ë Ã Ë � Æ Ë Ã Ë Ã � Æ � Ã Ë � Æ � Ã Ë Ã on the sample of 1816 positive � candidates and: Æ Ë Ã Ë � Æ Ë Ã Ë Ã � Æ � Ã Ë � Æ � Ã Ë Ã � �� ×Ø�Ø � �� ×Ø�Ø �� ×Ø�Ø � �� ×Ø�Ø �� ×Ø�Ø ×Ø�Ø �� ×Ø�Ø � �� ×Ø�Ø on the sample of 1807 negative � candidates. The resulting �Ë (0.21) is in agreement with the finding ÃË� of the fit on the total sample. To cross-check the effect of the PID parameterization, a sample of 2114 candidates were selected by requiring the � ¦ track to fail the SMS kaon selector 3 criteria.
