มอบรางวัล Royal Gold Medal ประจำาปี 2566 สาขา
สถาปัตยกรรม ให้แก่ Yasmeen Lari สถาปนิกหญิงคนแรก
ของปากีสถาน โดยรางวัลนี้เป็นหนึ่งในรางวัลเกียรติยศ
สูงสุดสำาหรับสถาปัตยกรรม และเป็นรางวัลแรกที่พระเจ้า-
ชาร์ลส์ที่ 3 ทรงอนุมัติเป็นการส่วนตัว ซึ่งเป็นการยกย่อง
ผลงานของ Yasmeen Lari ในการสนับสนุนแนวคิดการ
ก่อสร้างด้วยตนเอง โดยเฉพาะการเน้นงานออกแบบด้วย
แนวคิดคาร์บอนเป็นศูนย์สำาหรับประชากรที่พลัดถิ่น
Yasmeen Lari เกิดในปี 2484 ที่ประเทศปากีสถาน และ
ย้ายไปลอนดอนกับครอบครัวเมื่ออายุได้ 15 ปี ที่ซึ่งเธอได้
ศึกษาศิลปะก่อนที่จะได้รับการตอบรับเข้าเรียนที่ School
of Architecture Oxford Brookes University และ Oxford
Polytechnic เมื่ออายุได้ 23 ปี เธอกลับไปปากีสถานพร้อม
กับสามีเพื่อก่อตั้งบริษัทสถาปัตยกรรม Lari Associates
The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) recently
awarded Yasmeen Lari the 2023 Royal Gold
Medal in the field of architecture, making her the
first Pakistani female architect to receive the honor.
The RIBA Royal Gold Medal, one of the most prestigious
architectural awards and the first award
personally approved by King Charles III, recognizes
Yasmeen Lari’s body of work and its advocacy
of zero-carbon self-build concepts for displaced
populations.
Born in Pakistan in 1941, Yasmeen Lari moved to
London with her family at the age of fifteen. It was
here that she studied art and was later accepted
into the School of Architecture at Oxford Brookes
University and Oxford Polytechnic when she was
23 years old. She then moved back to Pakistan with
her husband and established her own architecture
practice, Lari Associates.
