A roof can be instrumental in controlling the climatic comfort. A roof can be bold and colourful. It can be complex in structure. It can be playful in its form. It can be a platform for us to absorb a panoramic view. It can be fixed, or retractable, or moveable. The design of a roof can be so pioneering that it symbolises that we are entering a new era. And the design of a roof can be our little step towards a more sustainable future. There are so many things that a roof can be. The next time we start designing a building, perhaps we can also start with the roof—just like what Junichiro Tanizaki wrote that we first spread a parasol, and under the parasol's shadow, we built a house. นวันวัจน์ ยุธานหัส จบการศึกษาระดับ ปริญญาตรีและปริญญาโท จากคณะสถาปั ตยกรรม- ศาสตร์ที่ Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London และเป็ นภัณฑารักษ์ผู้ช่วย ของ Thai Pavilion ใน งาน Venice Architecture Biennale ครั้งที่ 17 เมื่อ ปี ค.ศ. 2021 นอกจาก งานหลักที่เกี่ยวข้องกับ จุดร่วมของสถาปั ตยกรรม วัฒนธรรมและศิลปะแล้ว นวันวัจน์เป็ นอดีตอาจารย์ พิเศษที่คณะสถาปั ตย- กรรมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัย ศิลปากร และปั จจุบัน นวันวัจน์แชร์ความสนใจ ในการบอกเล่าเรื่องราวที่มี ค่าผ่านงานสถาปั ตยกรรม กับนักออกแบบรุ่นใหม่ที่ International Programme in Communication Design (CommDe) จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย Nawanwaj Yudhanahas studied her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Architecture at the Bartlett School of Architecture in London. She was an assistant curator for the Thai Pavilion at the 17th Venice Architecture Biennale in 2021. Her full-time job lies at the intersection of architecture, culture, and contemporary art. She also taught critical thinking in architectural design at Silpakorn University. Currently, she shares her passion for telling meaningful stories via architecture with students at the International Programme in Communication Design (CommDe), Chulalongkorn University.
