Chelsea Campus<br />

The Chelsea Campus of <strong>Bunker</strong> <strong>Hill</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong> is situated in the historic,<br />

former Post Of�ce facility at 175 Hawthorne Street in Bellingham Square. Providing<br />

higher education and job training opportunities to residents of Chelsea, Revere,<br />

Everett, East Boston, and Winthrop, the campus is actively involved in the community<br />

through partnerships with local human service agencies, the City of Chelsea and the<br />

Chelsea Public Schools.<br />

Several MBTA bus lines stop directly outside the front door of the campus, making<br />

it easily accessible by public transportation. The <strong>College</strong> also provides free shuttle<br />

service between the Charlestown and Chelsea campuses. Day students may park in<br />

metered spaces on streets adjacent to Bellingham Square. Beginning at 5:30 each<br />

weekday evening, students may take advantage of free parking at the city lot that is<br />

located at the corner of 5th and Chestnut Streets. For directions and more detailed<br />

All Allied Health certi�cate programs, including medical assistant, patient care<br />

technician, central processing, surgical technology, and emergency medical<br />

technician (EMT) are based in Chelsea. In fall 2012, a new Pharmacy Technician<br />

certi�cate program will be offered at the Chelsea Campus, and planning is now<br />

underway for a new associate degree program to prepare paramedics. The Chelsea<br />

Campus has a focus on laboratory science in biology, offering multiple sections of<br />

Human Biology and Anatomy & Physiology I and II. Chelsea also houses a full<br />

array of foundation and elective courses leading to <strong>College</strong> degrees and certi�cates.<br />

Chelsea is also home to the <strong>College</strong>’s Adult Basic Education (ABE) program and GED<br />

Spanish, funded by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary<br />

Education.<br />

Chelsea Campus Center for Student Access and Success<br />

The Chelsea Campus Center for Student Access and Success is the hub of all student<br />

services offered at the Chelsea Campus. Through this Center, students may register<br />

and pay for courses, complete course placement assessment (Accuplacer), and access<br />

advising and academic support services. The Center offers tutoring in mathematics,<br />

English, biology, and allied health content areas. Tutoring in other academic areas is<br />

also available by arrangement. The Center supports student achievement workshops<br />

in career exploration, goal setting, time management, learning styles, note-taking<br />

strategies, study skills, and test-taking skills. For additional <strong>info</strong>rmation, visit the<br />

The Education Resource Institute (TERI), located in the Chelsea Campus Center for<br />

Student Access and Success, is a partner with the Chelsea Campus in the delivery<br />

of educational outreach programming for low-income and �rst generation students,<br />

promoting access to college and assistance with the federal �nancial aid process. For<br />

Student Activities<br />

The rich cultural diversity of the student population is celebrated by a variety<br />

of activities that are held throughout the year. Students have the opportunity to<br />

participate in college committees, student clubs, and the Student Government<br />

Association.<br />

Library<br />

The <strong>College</strong> Library maintains a partnership with the Chelsea Public Library to deliver<br />

campus library services. With a valid <strong>College</strong> ID, students may access all of the<br />

library’s services and resources. Through the BHCC-Chelsea Library Partnership, the<br />

<strong>College</strong> has access to additional classroom space and BHCC provides and maintains<br />

computers that are located at the library for student use. The Chelsea Public Library<br />
