Mammography Certi�cate Program<br />
This Mammography Certi�cate Program is designed for experienced medical imaging professionals<br />
seeking to enter the �eld of mammography. The didactic and clinical content is structured to meet<br />
the content requirements of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Post-primary<br />
Examination in Mammography, and will help professionals prepare for the examination. Didactic courses<br />
are delivered online in an interactive format to accommodate the working adult student. Students are<br />
responsible for �nding a host hospital in which to complete the 100 hour clinical internship in which<br />
relevant skills will be re<strong>info</strong>rced. Students must earn a numerical grade of 80 or higher in all courses.<br />
Failure to meet internship objectives or failure to obtain a numerical course grade of 80 or better<br />
constitutes failure in that course. Students may apply for readmission to the program one time.<br />
All mammography students are required to undergo a physical examination; complete the necessary<br />
immunization forms, including three (3) Hepatitis B series; have malpractice and health insurance, and<br />
undergo a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check and a Sex Offender Registry Information<br />
(SORI) check.<br />

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:<br />
Student must apply to the program through the Admissions Of�ce and:<br />
1. Present a completed application with fee.<br />
2. Submit a copy of the current ARRT card.<br />
3. Submit a letter of interest.<br />
4. Submit a letter of recommendation from a supervisor, including guarantee of a clinical site for the<br />
clinical internship.<br />
Admission is selective. Completed applications will be reviewed by the Medical Imaging Department in<br />
April and July for a September start.<br />
PROGRAM OVERVIEW<br />
This certi�cate helps to prepare students for the American<br />
Registry of Radiologic Technologists’ (ARRT) Post-primary<br />
Registry Examination in Mammography, as well as for entrylevel<br />
Mammography positions. It is intended for ARRT registered<br />
imaging professionals.<br />
CRIMINAL OFFENDER RECORD INFORMATION<br />
AND SEX OFFENDER REGISTRY INFORMATION CHECKS<br />
As a prerequisite for a clinical placement in the Mammography<br />
Certi�cate Program, all students must undergo a Criminal<br />
Offender Record Information (CORI) check and a Sex Offender<br />
Registry Information (SORI) check. These checks are required<br />
due to potential unsupervised contact with children, the disabled,<br />
or the elderly during a clinical experience. Students found to<br />
have certain criminal convictions or pending criminal actions<br />
will be presumed ineligible for clinical placement. The <strong>College</strong><br />
is authorized by the Commonwealth’s Department of Criminal<br />
Justice Information Services, pursuant to Massachusetts General<br />
Laws, Chapter 6, Sections 167-178B, to access CORI records. Sex<br />
Offender checks shall be performed pursuant to Massachusetts<br />
General Laws, Chapter 6, Sections 178C-178P.<br />

CAREER OUTLOOK<br />
It is expected that the number of positions in this modality<br />
will continue to grow in the near future. Opportunities exist in<br />
hospitals, outpatient clinics and free-standing medical imaging<br />
facilities.<br />
