Certi�cate Option including, at a minimum, PSY215 and HSV112.<br />

PROGRAM OVERVIEW<br />
This certi�cate program prepares students for direct service jobs in a specialty area<br />

community agencies.<br />
CRIMINAL OFFENDER RECORD INFORMATION AND<br />
SEX OFFENDER REGISTRY INFORMATION CHECKS<br />
As a prerequisite for a clinical placement in the <strong>Community</strong> Health Worker Certi�cate<br />
Program , all students must undergo a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI)<br />
check and a Sex Offender Registry Information (SORI) check. These checks are<br />
required due to potential unsupervised contact with children, the disabled, or<br />
the elderly during a clinical experience. Students found to have certain criminal<br />
convictions or pending criminal actions will be presumed ineligible for clinical<br />
placement. The <strong>College</strong> is authorized by the Commonwealth’s Department of Criminal<br />
Justice Information Services, pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 6,<br />
Sections 167-178B, to access CORI records. Sex Offender checks shall be performed<br />
pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 6, Sections 178C-178P.<br />

CAREER OUTLOOK<br />
Students completing the certi�cate qualify for careers providing community health<br />
work. Work may take place in social welfare, mental health, or community-based<br />
human services organizations. Multi-age populations are served. Job outlook is<br />
excellent with many agencies offering employment in this area of specialty.<br />
