are fairly satisfactory under our present law which is not a very satis-<br />

factory one, as a much better law could be made <strong>and</strong> is needed for<br />

<strong>the</strong> benefit <strong>of</strong> both employer <strong>and</strong> employe. In ano<strong>the</strong>r part <strong>of</strong> my re-<br />

port will be found a few remarks upon <strong>the</strong> condition <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> mines in<br />

o-eneral <strong>and</strong> a brief report upon each mine, toge<strong>the</strong>r with a few tables<br />

which I hope will be <strong>of</strong> interest.<br />
