32 nd notes D#-E#-F#-G#-A#-B-B# to (Bar 23) Lines 3 & 4 C# 8 th note. Violas play this<br />

an octave lower register.. The flute and piccolo play the violins II notes, and the oboes<br />

also the 2 nd violins line. Clarinet I plays the violins II line, and clarinet II the violas<br />

register.<br />

The trumpets in Bar 20 play Line 1 A#/Line 2 C#/F# (F# maj) tenuto dotted half<br />

notes to C#/F# tenuto quarter notes (and B to A# 8ths for trumpet III) to (Bar 21)<br />

F#/A#/Line 2 C# whole notes. Trombones play exactly as the trumpets but an octave<br />

lower register. The timp is rolled on small octave C# whole note in Bars 20 and 21.<br />

Horns play small octave C# [written G#] whole note to (Bar 21), after a quarter rest, Line<br />

1 C#-D#-D# “3” triplet value 8ths crescendo to A# [written Line 2 E#] rinforzando half<br />

note. The bass clarinet plays Line 1 C# [written D#] whole note in both bars. The<br />

bassoons play this on Great octave C# whole notes. Etc. [end session Friday, March 11,<br />
