Excellent movie! Great stars, terrific direction, wonderful Max Steiner music,
classic scenes (“Badges? We ain’t got no badges. We don’t need no badges. I don’t have
to show you any stinking badges!”). I give the movie at least four stars, and I’m almost
tempted to give it five stars—but something is holding me back. Curious. For some
reason it’s not a classic movie that I tend to want to return to repeatedly. In fact, I haven’t
seen it since I bought the two-disc special edition dvd back in 2003!
I worked on the written score long ago but I did not have time to research it very
thoroughly. I managed to do some hand-copying and also to order some xeroxed pages.
Murray Cutter did the orchestrations.
