• Women tend to be more aware <strong>of</strong> alternatives and where they have freedom to do so they tend
to be more creative and open in their approach to energy.
Lack <strong>of</strong> knowledge
• <strong>The</strong>re is a lack <strong>of</strong> knowledge within the communities about different types <strong>of</strong> energy and how to
use energy safely and efficiently. For example:
- Misunderstanding <strong>of</strong> the cost <strong>of</strong> using different types <strong>of</strong> fuels - they only take
account <strong>of</strong> purchase cost and not management time <strong>of</strong> using fuel. E.g. Fuel
wood very expensive re management time.
- <strong>The</strong>re are also genuine concerns and misunderstandings about the safety <strong>of</strong>
using l.p.g.
CONCLUSION
• <strong>The</strong>se issues and others will be explored in detail at the workshops
<strong>The</strong>se workshops will give the community the opportunity to contribute their opinions and ideas.
• <strong>The</strong>re will be a report produced in the autumn
