Mixed sewage waste generated in the hotel, catering and
spa resort operations is collected separately, too.
In 2005 the quantity of sewage waste was reduced in
Terme Radenci d.o.o. by 24 per cent, G&P Hoteli Bled
d.o.o. by 11.6 per cent and in Golf in Kamp Bled d.d. by
4.2 per cent.
We are systematically decreasing the use of hazardous
substances. In the company Teol d.d. ethylene-oxide is
no longer used in the production of etoxilate. The
greatest progress in decreasing the specific use of
hazardous substances was achieved with the
introduction of certain improvements in the technology
of rubber profiles production in Rubber Manufacturing
where the specific use of nitrite- and nitrate-based LCM
salts was substantially reduced.
Noise
The noise level in the Kranj-based rubber manufacturing
companies during the day and at night was considerably
decreased through the following technical measures:
•a noise barrier in front of the solvent pumping station
next to the Print programme building of the company
Savatech d.o.o.;
•a noise barrier by the cooling tower adjacent to the
Elastomer programme building of the company
Savatech d.o.o.;
Fire safety
Systematic safety operations (environmental protection,
safety and health at work and fire safety) demonstrate
positive effects also in the field of fire safety. The number
of fires has considerably decreased over recent years.
Despite continual improvements in preventive actions
with respect to fire safety, employee training to implement
fire safety measures and the resulting performance of these
planned measures, the risk still exists.
As part of the preventive campaign related to fire safety
individual companies of the Sava Group organised
theoretical and practical training in October.
•a noise barrier in front of the apparatus for filtering air
polluted with grinds from the Sava-Schäfer d.o.o.
plant; and
•a silencer on the ventilation system outlet in the Velo
programme of the company Savatech d.o.o.
The results of monitoring show that noise levels during
the day and at night do not exceed the prescribed limits.
MEETING THE NEIGHBOURS
In the companies that operate on the Sava premises we
have regularly held meetings with neighbours ever since
1998. 43 residents accepted an invitation for a
traditional meeting that was held on 24 November 2005.
Representatives of the company Savatech d.o.o.,
Goodyear – EP and Sava Tires d.o.o. acquainted
participants with the achievements in decreasing the
impact on the environment, innovations and
improvements in environmental protection and safety
and health at work. We presented our plans concerning
environmental protection for the following year.
Residents also viewed a new business and production
facility of the EKO programme for environmental
protection and rescue products, which forms a part of the
company Savatech d.o.o.
Several times a year the rubber manufacturing
companies carry out unannounced simulation drills. In
September an unannounced fire drill Fire on Line KS
2000 in the Conveyor Belt programme, part of the
company Savatech d.o.o., was carried out. In October a
simulated fire-fighting drill was carried out in the Print
programme in the company Savatech d.o.o. The purpose
of both drills was to check the abilities of employees to
intervene in case of fire at their work places and the
competence of the intervention team of the Sava firefighting
unit. Both drills proved that employees and the
team alike are sufficiently qualified to intervene in case
of fire.
