In view of the fact that between October 1, 19^5 and December
31* 19^5 fourteen veterans of World V/ar Two, on leave of absence from
their school teaching positions, returned to their teaching positions, and
that beginning January 1,. three more veterans have returned to their teaching
duties, arid it is known that several others will return prior to the adoption
of the appropriation bill, you are hereby requested to recommend to the Honorable
Board of Aldermen an advance appropriation to School Committee, School
Teachers Salaries, Personal Services Account, In an amount of $15,000 to pay
the salary accounts of these returned and returning veterans between January
1 and the time of the adoption of the appropriation bill.
