Resolved;<br />

That the <strong>Somerville</strong> Board _<strong>of</strong> Aldermen herewith<br />

Initiate a campaign to be called."Send a penny to Congress Campaign". That<br />

£very_person in the country is urged to contribute one penny for each'member<br />

<strong>of</strong> HPT"family 8° that a.sufficient sum can be raised to give a party to those<br />

Representatives and Senators who voted against Price control with the hope<br />

that they then will feel a little better and more kindly disposed towards the<br />

welfare <strong>of</strong>'the'American people,"and be "it further<br />

Resolved:<br />

That a copy <strong>of</strong> these resolutions be sent to the<br />

President <strong>of</strong> the U.S.Senate and the speaker <strong>of</strong> the House <strong>of</strong> Representatives.<br />

Read.twice and adopted.<br />

Alderman Carroll <strong>of</strong>fered the following orders,<br />

Ordered:<br />

• That the Mayor consider the advisability <strong>of</strong> apprc<br />

prlatlng the sum <strong>of</strong> two thousand ($2,000.00) dollars to the Building Depart-<br />

ment for the Immediate installation <strong>of</strong> a hot water boiler in the Blngham<br />

School on Lowell Street, so as to provide shower bath facilities. The present<br />

boiler is beyond repair and is <strong>of</strong> no use.<br />

Ordered:<br />

That a public hearing be held relative to the<br />

proposed acceptance <strong>of</strong> Sllvey Place as a public way in accordance with the pe-<br />

tition requesting same and signed by the residents <strong>of</strong> Silvey Place. ( Said pub-<br />

lic hearing to be advertised in.a local paper.<br />

and members <strong>of</strong> the Police Department<br />

Be it ordained by the Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> pf <strong>Somerville</strong>,<br />

as follows:<br />

Section 1. Chapter g*J-, Section IB <strong>of</strong> the Revised Ordlnances <strong>of</strong> 19.29<br />

is hereby amended by striking out said section as amended by Ordinance 113<br />

<strong>of</strong> 19^5, and substituting therefor a new section "as j^<br />

Section IB. Salaries <strong>of</strong> the <strong>of</strong>ficers and members <strong>of</strong> the police Department<br />
