and I recommend that your Honorable Boju?^autngrize_what the Commission recommends.
This step will enable the "commission and the City Auditor to co-operate
in correct procedure as to revised Civil Service requirements pertaining
to State-wide re-classification and re-naming of positions in Recreation Service,
and also in serving both War veterans and the City by utilizing the
On-The-Job Training Program provided in the Commission's employed staff, and
in Insuring precise conformity to the G-eneral Laws as amended by Chapter 62
of Acts and Resolves, 19^3i as to listing of positions as reorganized by
Civil Service and the Recreation Commission. I call your attention to explanations

The State Civil service has prescribed changes in classi
fications and titles of positions in Recreation Service throughout the Commonwealth
— for.purpose of uniformity among the cities and towns. At the
same time, resignations among employes of the Somerville Recreation Commission
have necessitated promotions from lower rank, leaving vacancies. Ad
ditionally the Commission is taking advantage of On-The-Job Training for
