and I recommend that your Honorable Boju?^autngrize_what the Commission recommends.<br />

This step will enable the "commission and the <strong>City</strong> Auditor to co-operate<br />

in correct procedure as to revised Civil Service requirements pertaining<br />

to State-wide re-classification and re-naming <strong>of</strong> positions in Recreation Service,<br />

and also in serving both War veterans and the <strong>City</strong> by utilizing the<br />

On-The-Job Training Program provided in the Commission's employed staff, and<br />

in Insuring precise conformity to the G-eneral Laws as amended by Chapter 62<br />

<strong>of</strong> Acts and Resolves, 19^3i as to listing <strong>of</strong> positions as reorganized by<br />

Civil Service and the Recreation Commission. I call your attention to explanations<br />

The State Civil service has prescribed changes in classi<br />

fications and titles <strong>of</strong> positions in Recreation Service throughout the Commonwealth<br />

— for.purpose <strong>of</strong> uniformity among the cities and towns. At the<br />

same time, resignations among employes <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Somerville</strong> Recreation Commission<br />

have necessitated promotions from lower rank, leaving vacancies. Ad<br />

ditionally the Commission is taking advantage <strong>of</strong> On-The-Job Training for
