Resolved;<br />

That the Somervllle Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen in_^<br />

session assembled, urgently and sincerely request the Congress <strong>of</strong> the United<br />

States to pass the necessary legislation at the present session <strong>of</strong> Congress,<br />

to provide for the payment <strong>of</strong> a cash bonus <strong>of</strong> at least &1,500.00 to every<br />

Veteran <strong>of</strong> World War 11, and be it further<br />

Resolved;<br />

That a copy <strong>of</strong> these resolutions be sent to<br />

every member <strong>of</strong> Congress, both House and Senate, from Massachusetts.<br />

Read twice and adopted.<br />

That the Clerk <strong>of</strong> Committees Office forward a<br />

list <strong>of</strong> all,petitions for,lodging house licenses, the names and locations, to<br />

Commissioner <strong>of</strong> Public Buildings John F. Kennedy, chief <strong>of</strong> the Fire Depart-<br />

ment John C. McNally, Captain Augustine F. Sharry <strong>of</strong> the Police Department<br />

and to the Secretary <strong>of</strong> the Board <strong>of</strong> Health, Joseph R. Corish* The above<br />

named to conduct investigations <strong>of</strong> the said petitions, relative to their<br />

respective departments and taking into consideration the provisions <strong>of</strong> the<br />

new <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Somerville</strong> Building Code that was passed and approved,in December<br />

19^5- Reports by the above named shall be submitted to the Committee on Li-<br />

censes and Permits in the Office <strong>of</strong> the Clerk <strong>of</strong> Committees, at the earliest<br />

possible date consistent with a thorough investigation.<br />

That the Building Commissioner, the <strong>City</strong> Solici-<br />

tor and the Superintendent <strong>of</strong> Schools confer together to formulate a plan<br />

whereby the employees <strong>of</strong> the School Cafeteria System be brought within the<br />

pension system and for deductions for social security.<br />

That the <strong>City</strong> Auditor be directed to include<br />

with each payroll check for each city employee including school teachers, a<br />

statement showing how much the weekly or monthly'salary is^ the amount de-<br />
