12.6.1 Format<br />

For ASYNC and COP protocols only.<br />
Character format. The parameter values are different for the asynchronous (T-ASYNC and<br />
R-ASYNC) and COP protocols.<br />
Asynchronous Protocols: The parameter defines the number of data bits per character,<br />
the parity bit usage, number of stop bits and idle characters. When not specified in the<br />
parameter value, the number of stop bits is 1. For example, 8N-2STOP configures the port<br />
for 8 bits, no parity and 2 stop bits.<br />
Values: (Asynchronous protocols): 8-NONE, 7-NONE, 7-ODD, 7-<br />
EVEN, 7-SPACE, 7-MARK, 7-IGNORE, 8-EVEN, 8-ODD, 8N-<br />
2STOP<br />
Default: 8-NONE<br />
COP Protocol: The parameter defines the number of bits per character only.<br />
Values: (COP protocols): 8 BITS, 6 BITS<br />
Default: 8 BITS<br />
