2.1 NetPerformer Support of HDLCOFR
HDLC over Frame Relay (HDLCOFR), can be defined on a serial port or digital channel
for data transport over Frame Relay. It is used for a multicast application of HDLC traffic:
• An HDLC frame is received at the HDLCOFR port
• The NetPerformer encapsulates the HDLC frame in a Frame Relay frame structure
• The encapsulated frame is then sent out to a device capable of doing Frame Relay
multicast transmissions
• As a result, several remote stations can receive the same data.
2.2 Configuring an HDLCOFR Connection

• Protocol, Interface, Clocking mode, Port speed (bps), Fallback speed, CRC
encoding and Idle are common to HDLC ports, and are detailed in “SE/PORT
Configuration Parameters” on page 12-1.
Caution: The Dual Serial interface card for the SDM-9360, SDM-
9380 and SDM-9585 does not support Fallback.
• The other parameters are specific to defining an HDLCOFR port. Refer to the
section “HDLCOFR Port” on page 12-13.
