IPX Connections
The six IP submenus control the following:
• GLOBAL: configures the unit for general IPX routing characteristics (see next
section)
• FILTER: configures the parameters that define IPX SAP filtering (see “IPX SAP
Filtering Parameters” on page 10-5).
10.2.1 Global IPX Parameters
SE/IPX/
GLOBAL
example
To select global IPX parameters enter GLOBAL at the second Item prompt. The following
parameters will be listed:
The global IPX parameters are detailed in the section “SE/IPX/GLOBAL Parameters” on
page 14-4.
10.2.2 IPX SAP Filtering Parameters
SE/IPX/FILTER
example
The Setup IPX menu includes a set of parameters that define IPX SAP filters. These filters
permit greater control of SAP table entries, so that only the desired services are routed. For
access to these parameters using SNMP, select the appropriate MIB variable from the
ipxfilter group. To access these parameters from the console:
1. Enter SE to execute the Setup command,
2. Enter IPX at the Item prompt to select the IPX menu,
3. Enter FILTERS (or an abbreviation of this term) at the second Item prompt to access
the IPX Filter parameters.
4. Select a specific filter entry (1 to 10) with the IPX Filter entry number parameter.
5. Enable and define the filter with the Enable, SAP and Type parameters.
