8.2 Configuring a COP Connection
COP Protocol
The PORT or SLOT submenu of the SETUP console command includes all parameters
required to configure a COP port.
If you are using SNMP, the required configuration variables are grouped under the ifwan
category. For text-based configuration the [ifwan#] heading is used, where # represents
the number of the port or channel.
A COP port can be configured on a built-in serial port or a serial port on a Dual Serial Port
interface card.
• To configure a built-in serial port on the base unit as a COP port:
- Enter the menu sequence: SE � PORT.
- Select the Port number.
- Set the Protocol to COP.
- Change the other port parameters from their default values, if desired.
• To configure a serial port on the Dual Serial interface card as a COP port:
- Enter the menu sequence: SE � SLOT.
- Select the Slot number.
- Select the Channel number, e.g. 102, where the first digit indicates the slot
and the last two digits indicate the channel.
- Set the Protocol to COP.
- Change the other parameters from their default values, if desired.
