Autor de contacto: andrea.jacome@outlook.com; crismax68@hotmail.com Recibido: 06/octubre/2017 Aceptado: 07/noviembre/2017 Publicado: 30/noviembre/2017 RESUMEN La racionalidad económica del capitalismo en la globalización no sólo propicia una mayor brecha entre ricos y pobres, sino que también ocasiona diversas problemáticas en las diferentes actividades productivas derivadas de la búsqueda de la maximización de la ganancia, como la confrontación, la destrucción del tejido social, la competencia exacerbada y la crisis ambiental; más aún en aquellas actividades que coexisten entre la tradición y la modernidad como es el caso de la actividad artesanal. Ante esta situación, vale la pena explorar racionalidades económicas alternativas que permitan hacer prácticas eficientes no desde la lógica de mercado sino desde una lógica solidaria con la humanidad, la naturaleza y la cultura, así como lo propone la “Economía Social y Solidaria”. Esta alternativa se plantea en respuesta a las tres problemáticas principales que se presentan en la actividad artesanal de piedra de Dzityá: 1) la pérdida del componente cultural al pasar de una producción artesanal hacia una destinada al sector de la construcción; 2) el impacto ambiental que generan en la extracción de la piedra como materia prima y durante su proceso de transformación y 3) la fuerte disociación que existe entre el grupo de artesanos de la misma comunidad. El presente trabajo muestra el impacto de la globalización en la actividad artesanal en piedra de Dzityá y una propuesta desde la perspectiva de la economía social y solidaria, bajo la cual los artesanos y otras poblaciones rurales podrían entender y atender los complejos problemas que enfrentan ante la búsqueda un desarrollo alternativo. Palabras clave: Artesanías en piedra / Desarrollo Local / Economía social y solidaria / Gobalización ABSTRACT The economic rationality of capitalism in the globalization not only fosters a biggest gap between rich and poor, but also causes various problems in the different productive activities derived from the search for profit maximization, such as confrontation, destruction of the social fabric, exacerbate competition and environmental crisis; even more so in those activities that coexist between traditional and modern times, as is the case with artisanal activity. Given this situation, it is worth exploring alternative economic rationalities that allow efficient practices not from the logic of the market but from a logic in solidarity with humanity, nature and culture, as proposed by the "Social and Solidarity Economy." This alternative is posed in response to the three main problems that arise the stone handicraft activity at Dzityá: 1) the loss of the cultural component from a handcraft production to one destined for the construction sector; 2) the environmental impact generated by both the extraction of natural resources and the process of transformation of the stone as raw material and 3) the strong dissociation that exists between the group of artisans of the same community. This paper shows the impact of globalization on the Dzityá’s stone handicraft activity and a proposal from the perspective of the social and solidarity economy, under which artisans and other rural populations could understand and address the complex problems they face in the search for alternative development. Key words: Stone Handcrafts / Local Development / Social and Solidarity Economy / Globalization INTRODUCCIÓN A nivel mundial experimentamos un sistema económico y social basado en la propiedad privada de los medios de producción llamado Capitalismo, el cual está cimentado en la importancia del capital como generador de riqueza y en la asignación de los recursos a través del mecanismo del mercado (Oxford, 2017). Este capitalismo de nuestros tiempos ha adoptado la tendencia a hallar soluciones cada vez más eficientes, por encima de consideraciones ecológicas, ideológicas, éticas y políticas; donde la acumulación del capital es el fin último, sin importar las implicaciones e impactos de los medios que se usan para ello (Marañón, 2014).
