The discourse oftwo learners in two separate learning situations are presented here to show how theconcept of learning style, made up of choices and rules of functioning, is related tobeliefs. Actions in learning situations are thus seen to be rooted in the self-representationsof learners and in their representations of the task to accomplish. The reflectionthat follows offers a more in-depth study of the social and personal dimensionsof learning styles. A partir del discurso de dos aprendices endos situaciones de aprendizaje, ilustraremos de qué manera el concepto de estilo deaprendizaje, constituido por preferencias y por reglas de funcionamiento, está ligadoa las creencias. Así pues, las acciones en situación de aprendizaje se arraigan en lasrepresentaciones de sí mismo en tanto que aprendiz y en las representaciones de latarea encomendada.
