Sebagaimanatelah diumumkan pada pernyataan bersama tanggal 4 April 2011,Panel RSPO akan meninjau kembali proses sertifikasi <strong>SMART</strong> danIMT setelah diterimanya laporan lengkap sehubungan denganrestorasi lahan gambut, penelitian sosial dan kompensasi NKT.Lebih lanjut, Panel RSPO merasa puas dengan dialog yang telahdilakukan dengan <strong>SMART</strong>, GAR dan IMT serta mereka telahmemberikan rekomendasi kepada Dewan Eksekutif RSPO, yangtelah menyetujui dan menerima aplikasi keanggotaan GAR.Bekerja sama dengan TFT dalam pelestarian hutanPada tanggal 9 Februari 2011, kami mengumumkan KebijakanKonservasi Hutan (”KKH”), hasil kerja sama dengan TFT. KKHdimaksudkan untuk melestarikan hutan seraya menciptakanpertumbuhan lestari secara jangka panjang bagi Perseroandan industri kelapa sawit. Kebijakan ini merupakan contoh daripemrakarsaan dan pembentukan dasar bagi berbagai pemangkukepentingan dalam rangka mencari solusi bagi kelapa sawit lestari.Pengumuman ini mendapat dukungan positif dari berbagaipemangku kepentingan. Dalam pernyataannya pada tanggal9 Februari 2011, TFT menyebutkan bahwa Greenpeace ”mendukungdengan hati-hati”. Juga dikutip pernyataan Greenpeace bahwa,”Melindungi hutan Indonesia adalah baik untuk bisnis, lingkungandan generasi yang akan datang dari seluruh rakyat Indonesia”.PENINGKATAN PRODUKTIVITAS INDUSTRI KELAPA SAWITINDONESIASelain mengumumkan KKH, kami juga berfokus untukmeningkatkan produktivitas kelapa sawit.Partnering with TFT to conserve forestsOn 9 February 2011, we announced our Forest Conservation Policy(“FCP”), in collaboration with TFT. The FCP seeks to conserve forestswhile creating long-term sustainable growth for the Companyand the palm oil industry. The policy is an example of initiatingand creating a platform for multi-stakeholders to find solutionsfor sustainable palm oil. The announcement received positivesupport from various stakeholders. TFT highlighted in its statementon 9 February 2011 that Greenpeace is “cautiously supportive”.Greenpeace was quoted as saying, “Protecting Indonesia’s forestsis good for business, the environment and future generations ofall Indonesians.”PROMOTING PRODUCTIVITY OF THE INDONESIAN PALM OILINDUSTRYIn addition to announcing the FCP, we are focused on promotingoil palm productivity.Increasing productivity is part of the industry’s multiprongedstrategy to balance the growth of the oil palm industry and itsimpact on the environment. Together with the IndonesianPalm Oil Association (IPOA), smallholders and government bodies,we promote the use of seeds that are derived from selectedhighly productive oil palms. We also encourage prudent use ofpesticides and biological pest control to enhance productivity ofthe entire industry. As approximately 29,500 hectares or 21% ofplantations belong to smallholders, increasing the productivity ofthese plantations is crucial.Our collaboration with smallholders (plasma) has been successful.In 2010, the CPO yield per hectare of our plasma was 4.3 tonnes,46 <strong>PT</strong> Sinar Mas Agro Resources and Technology <strong>Tbk</strong>.Laporan Tahunan 2010 AnNual <strong>Report</strong>
