On the 18th of November the prize-giving ceremony for the five winners of the fifth edition of the<br />
“Mare Nostrum Awards”, promoted by the <strong>Grimaldi</strong> Magazine Mare Nostrum took place at the<br />
Renaissance Hotel Mediterraneo in Naples.<br />
The VI edition of Mare Nostrum Awards, (advertised in this issue of the <strong>Grimaldi</strong> Magazine Mare<br />
Nostrum) fosters the advantages of maritime links, particularly the so-called Motorways of the Sea,<br />
compared to other means of transport, especially overland.<br />
The judging panel, chaired by the prominent writer and film-director Folco Quilici, voted the five<br />
winners, to which a prize of 10,000 euros each was given, for a total jackpot of 50,000 euros.<br />
The 2012 winners were:<br />
Giovanni Russo for the article ”La rivoluzione delle autostrade del mare”, published on the<br />
monthly magazine “Costruttori romani”; the prize was presented by Diana De Feo.<br />
Carlos Solito for the photographic exhibition “SUD- Sguardi Uomini Donne” exhibited at the<br />
Museo Diocesano of the city of Taranto in occasion of the show FOTOARTE 2012; Mimmo Jodice<br />
awarded the young photographer.<br />
Domenico Barbati for the article “Il business delle autostrade del mare”, published on the<br />
newspaper “Il Mattino”; the award was assigned by the Managing Director of the <strong>Group</strong> Emanuele<br />
<strong>Grimaldi</strong>;<br />
Spyridon Roussos for the article “The Italian bet”, published on the Greek magazine “Efoplistis”;<br />
the prize was given by Folco Quilici;<br />
Ridha Maamri for the article “Passer à la vitesse de croisière”, published on the Tunisian<br />
newspaper “La Presse de Tunisie”; Former Consul of Tunisia in Naples Brahim Aouam awarded him.<br />
In addition to Folco Quilici, the members of the Mare Nostrum Awards judging panel were: Brahim<br />
Aouam, former Consul of the Republic of Tunisia in Naples; Vassiliki Armogeni, Managing Director<br />
and co-publisher of the Greek magazine Efoplistis; Michele Capasso, President of the “Fondazione<br />
Mediterraneo”; Virman Cusenza, Editor of Il Mattino; RAI journalist Diana De Feo; photographer<br />
Mimmo Jodice; Enric Juliana, Deputy editor of the Spanish daily journal “La Vanguardia”, and Paul<br />
Kyprianou, former President of the European Ro-Ro Carriers Action <strong>Group</strong>.<br />
The secretary of the International Jury is Luciano Bosso, journalist and Editor of <strong>Grimaldi</strong> Magazine<br />
Mare Nostrum.<br />
The event was presented by the popular RAI TV host Massimo Giletti.<br />
