ABSTRACT<br />
Body and Fashion's patterns show the lack of mo<strong>de</strong>ling standards nowadays in the<br />
textile industry and the confusion provi<strong>de</strong>d by the producers trying to reach the consumers.<br />
Based on the specialized publications, is presented an abstract of the body's history while<br />
symbolic manifestation. From this theoretical recital, this contemporary obsession for a<br />
perfect body is investigated. The research was organized making interviews with appraised<br />
organs in that segment. This study observed the increased value of the i<strong>de</strong>al of an elegant<br />
and slim image, consi<strong>de</strong>ring the connection between the human being and his body.<br />
Realizing the ways of building an image insi<strong>de</strong> the social context plastered in a preset and<br />
accepted mo<strong>de</strong>l by the groups. Almost always the patterns studied involve not only the<br />
obsessions, as part of a social group, but also the disinteresteness from the industries to<br />
establish a national standard of sizes to produce the clothes.<br />
