for, hvor nydelig <strong>det</strong> <strong>er</strong> <strong>at</strong> bruge et objekt, og for hvor engag<strong>er</strong>ende <strong>det</strong> <strong>er</strong> <strong>at</strong> int<strong>er</strong>ag<strong>er</strong><strong>er</strong> med<br />
teknologien (Ov<strong>er</strong>beeke et al. 2005). Det <strong>er</strong> indtil vid<strong>er</strong>e begrænset, hvor mange sans<strong>er</strong><br />
int<strong>er</strong><strong>nettet</strong> kan stimul<strong>er</strong>e, i<strong>det</strong> fx stimul<strong>at</strong>ion af smag og lugtesans ikke <strong>er</strong> ikke en aktuel<br />
mulighed, ligesom stimul<strong>at</strong>ion af følesans også <strong>er</strong> begrænset. Stimul<strong>at</strong>ion af fl<strong>er</strong>e sans<strong>er</strong> <strong>er</strong><br />
d<strong>er</strong>imod også en vigtigt faktor, i forhold til oplevelsen af und<strong>er</strong>holdning <strong>på</strong> en hjemmeside<br />
(Lin, F<strong>er</strong>nandez & Gregor 2010). Lin, F<strong>er</strong>nandez og Gregor inklud<strong>er</strong><strong>er</strong> stimul<strong>at</strong>ion af fl<strong>er</strong>e<br />
sans<strong>er</strong> i d<strong>er</strong>es retningslinj<strong>er</strong> for design af und<strong>er</strong>holdende hjemmesid<strong>er</strong>, d<strong>er</strong> stimul<strong>er</strong><strong>er</strong><br />
læring. Det gør de <strong>på</strong> baggrund af et kvalit<strong>at</strong>ivt studie, hvor de indsaml<strong>er</strong> respondent<strong>er</strong>nes<br />
oplevelse ved forskellige sektion<strong>er</strong> af et museums hjemmeside, som adskill<strong>er</strong> sig fra<br />
hinanden blandt an<strong>det</strong> ved, <strong>at</strong> nogle af dem indehold<strong>er</strong> multimediale indhold (Ibidem, s.<br />
909). Med denne baggrund, opstill<strong>er</strong> jeg den følgende hypotese:<br />
H5: stimul<strong>at</strong>ion af fl<strong>er</strong>e sans<strong>er</strong> (MEDIE) ⇒ tilstedeværelse (INDIVID) ⇒<br />
und<strong>er</strong>holdning<br />
Dybden af stimul<strong>at</strong>ionen afhæng<strong>er</strong> ifølge Steu<strong>er</strong> (1993) af kvaliteten af <strong>det</strong> m<strong>at</strong><strong>er</strong>iale,<br />
d<strong>er</strong> stimul<strong>er</strong><strong>er</strong> sans<strong>er</strong>ne. I <strong>det</strong> tilfælde af int<strong>er</strong>net kan <strong>det</strong> især være tale om billed<strong>er</strong> og lyde.<br />
Det følgende udsagn und<strong>er</strong>støtt<strong>er</strong> <strong>på</strong>standen om, <strong>at</strong> grafiske element<strong>er</strong> alene kan have effekt<br />
<strong>på</strong> en positiv oplevelse ved int<strong>er</strong>netsøgning<strong>er</strong>: "Looks good! … Kind of a cool Web page,<br />
because, its mostly graphical" (Wang, Hawk & Tenopir 2000).<br />
Med <strong>det</strong> forbehold, <strong>at</strong> glæde ved billed<strong>er</strong> kan være rel<strong>at</strong><strong>er</strong>et til individuelle faktor<strong>er</strong>,<br />
som fx kognitiv stil (Ford et al. 2009), opstill<strong>er</strong> jeg den følgende hypotese:<br />
H6: høj lyds og bille<strong>det</strong>s kvalitet (MEDIA) ⇒ tilstedeværelse (INDIVID) ⇒<br />
und<strong>er</strong>holdning<br />
Mening<strong>er</strong>ne om forhol<strong>det</strong> mellem tilstedeværelse og int<strong>er</strong>aktivitet <strong>er</strong> forskellige.<br />
Coyle og Thorson (2001) find<strong>er</strong> for hjemmesid<strong>er</strong> for online shopping en positiv korrel<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
mellem int<strong>er</strong>aktivitet og oplevelse af tilstedeværelse. Nak<strong>at</strong>su, Reut<strong>er</strong>b<strong>er</strong>g og Vord<strong>er</strong><strong>er</strong><br />
(2005, s. 9) argument<strong>er</strong><strong>er</strong> for, <strong>at</strong> en høj grad af tilstedeværelse kan få brug<strong>er</strong>e til <strong>at</strong> miste<br />
oplevelsen af, <strong>at</strong> de har kontrol ov<strong>er</strong> mediet, som ifølge forf<strong>at</strong>t<strong>er</strong>ne <strong>er</strong> afgørende for, <strong>at</strong> brug<br />
af int<strong>er</strong>aktive medi<strong>er</strong> kan være und<strong>er</strong>holdende. Green, Borck og Kaufman (2006, s. 322‐<br />
323) argument<strong>er</strong><strong>er</strong> for, <strong>at</strong> int<strong>er</strong>aktivitet fremm<strong>er</strong> tilstedeværelse, og d<strong>er</strong>med und<strong>er</strong>holdning.<br />
Forf<strong>at</strong>t<strong>er</strong>ne <strong>er</strong> dog samtidig opmærksomme <strong>på</strong>, hvis int<strong>er</strong>aktivitet komm<strong>er</strong> til <strong>at</strong> hindre<br />
narr<strong>at</strong>ive element<strong>er</strong>, kan <strong>det</strong> mindske oplevelse af tilstedeværelse, og h<strong>er</strong>med en oplevense<br />
af und<strong>er</strong>holdning (Ibidem, s. 325) Man kan muligvis forklare de to mods<strong>at</strong>rettede<br />
argument<strong>er</strong> ved <strong>at</strong> rel<strong>at</strong><strong>er</strong>e int<strong>er</strong>aktivitet til motiv bag mediebrug (§ 4.3.2).
